In the next room I myself had to pass a test
Fill in the dots
A test of wildness
A deer had made perfect tracks
in a large tray of sand
dotted with hoof prints
Those notes
scattered stones
A voice told me make
your prints
make prints
I could feel on my back eyes of
bronze bionic
Elk gathered to represent
a much larger corporation
on the true meaning of things
The deer stood to the side
I leaned to the wet sand
did my best
Tire tracks and muffler scratches
Even with box corners
and knife pressing in
I couldn't do it
I couldn't make prints
Not even with my bare hands.
