lyrics
If you were a kind of tree
what would you decide to be
many might decide to choose oak
according to strength
another might choose an evergreen
a pine a fir
or someone else might choose
to be the willow
bending over a pond
a small pond
a balanced bend
Though it seems so soft and frail
bending is its specialty
winds and storms may come and blow
snapping harder trees,
but willow bends beneath the stress
folding like brushed hair
bouncing back again
as if the Spring were there
Dancing with the storms
with roots
with roots deep.
